Cat&#8217;s Medium \u2013 Distance: 261 Miles<\/strong><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">A ride through the heart of the Catskill Mountain Park. Country roads and sweepers until you get to Kaaterskill Falls on Rt. 23A. Then more sweepers going south on scenic Rt 214. Once you get into the park it is mostly back roads, and some sections are very remote. Lunch in Woodstock, then many miles of remote back roads so get gas before getting on Rt 28A. Then take Rt 28A along the southern part of Ashokan Reservoir, Peekamoose Mountain, and Sundown Wild Forest where it is usually 10 degrees cooler riding under a canopy of trees. Then head north along the Neversink River, through Frost Valley, Oliverea, and Big Indian. It is mostly sweepers in the wide open Adirondack park with some twistie fun parts along the Great Sacandaga Lake,\u00a0and parts of Rt 28N are like\u00a0a roller\u00a0coaster. Plenty of gas stops with lunch at Paradox Brewery. POI&#8217;s before lunch would be Sporty&#8217;s Iron Duke Saloon (a cash bar with antique bikes and memorabilia). Also Adirondack Buffalo Company. A buffalo farm where you can see buffalo and buy frozen\u00a0bison meat. After lunch you have Fort Ticonderoga. Then a nice ride down Rt 9N through the pine trees to Lake George village. Taking a scenic fun ride up to the Lake Placid Pub and Brewery for lunch.\u00a0 After lunch check out the High Falls Gorge, and\u00a0then to the White Face Mt summit\u00a0weather observatory and Castle Cafe, (if you want to pay the toll). Then ride south to Tracy Rd again, and get gas in Port Henry. After gas heading south on scenic Rt 9N to Lake George village. Then take highway I 87 south to the hotel.<\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">If you want to shorten this route to 265 miles, make a u-turn at the end of Tracy Rd and go right back over it to head back. This will skip the lunch stop, Lake Placid, White Face Mt. You could get lunch in Port Henry or Ticonderoga.
